St. Barnaba spring
In Bieniszewska Primeval Forest, near a Camaldolese hermitage, there is a St. Barnaba spring. This place is connected with the cult of the Five Martyr Brothers, who came to Poland - the country of Prince Bolesław Chrobry - to convert the pagans. Among the martyrs there were two Benedictines- John and Benedict, and three Slavs- Matthew, Isaac, and their servant Krystyn. Barnabas lived next to a spring whose waters had miraculous healing power- they cured eye diseases. The chapel built over the spring was disassembled in 1932 by order of Stanisław Mańkowski, the owner of Kazimierz at that time.
Through the spring of St. Barnabas leads the quest in the footsteps of Jan Długosz.
